Pristan

Legal

Terms

Pristan checks, fixes and hosts websites. You own your files and your web address. This is not legal advice.

Privacy

We keep the email you sign in with, your website files, and the records the law asks us to keep for permissions. Write to privacy@pristan.com.

What we keep, and why

  • Your email, and your Google account number if you sign in with Google. To let you in and to run your account.
  • The website files you upload or link, and the checks we make of them. To check, fix and publish your website.
  • Sign-ups collected by your forms, with the proof of permission. We keep them for you; you decide what happens to them.
  • Visit counts, described below. Kept for 14 days on the free plan and longer on paid plans, up to 400 days.
  • Sign-in codes stop working after 15 minutes. Card details stay with Stripe; we never see them.

Who else handles it

Stripe handles payments. An AI model provider helps write the plain-language notes in a check, and receives the text of the website file you ask us to check. Google handles sign-in if you choose it. Our hosting provider stores the data.

If you buy a web address from us

To register a web address we need the owner's name, address, email and phone. We keep these with your order, because the address is yours and we need them to renew it. We send them to our registrar, the company that registers the name, and the registry requires them. With "Keep my personal details private" on, they are hidden from the public record where the registry allows it.

Some endings need more. For .hr addresses the registry requires your tax number (OIB). We do not keep it. It is passed through to our registrar to register the address. Between the form and the payment it is held encrypted on your order, and we delete it as soon as the registration has succeeded or failed, or after one day if the order was never paid. We never show it again, never use it for anything else, and never put it in an email.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to limit or object to how we use it. Write to us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec) or to the data protection authority in your country.

We use only the cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work. We use none for advertising, and none to count visitors.

The first two are needed to keep the site working and safe, so they do not ask for permission.

Visitor counts

We count visits to our pages and to the websites we host on our own servers. We set no cookies for this and store nothing on your device. We use your IP address once to work out your country, then we forget it: it is never saved. The daily code that tells visitors apart changes every day and for every website. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we do not count you.

A tiny script reports the size of your browser window, rounded to the nearest 50 pixels, so we can tell phones from laptops. It stores nothing and sets no cookie.

Data processing

If you use Pristan for a business, we process visitor data on your instructions. Ask us for the processing agreement.
