Pristan

Terms and conditions

Version of 27 October 2026.

1. Who we are

Pristan (pristan.io) is run by JJTA Consulting d.o.o., Slovenia, Žeje 31b, 1233 Dob, register number 7449054000, VAT number SI23656590. In these terms "we" and "us" means JJTA Consulting d.o.o., and "you" means the person or business using Pristan.

Write to us at help@pristan.io, and about your personal data at privacy@pristan.io.

2. What Pristan does

Pristan checks websites, explains what to fix in plain words, fixes what can be fixed automatically, writes website text with you, and puts websites online on our servers. With a paid plan it can also register a web address for you and collect sign-ups through forms.

You agree to these terms when you tick the box before a check or before signing in. Every check you start and every account you use runs under them.

3. Checks and text written by AI

A check reads the website file or the website address you give us. The text of the website is sent to an AI model provider, which writes the plain-language notes in the result. How this works and who receives what is set out in "How we process your data" at the end of these terms.

Results and text written with AI can contain mistakes. A check points out common problems; it is not legal advice and does not replace a lawyer. Read what Pristan writes for you before you publish it. You decide what goes on your website.

Only give us websites you own or are allowed to check, and do not upload anything you may not share with us.

4. Your account

You sign in with a code we email you, or with Google. Keep access to your email account safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You can sign in with the same account on several devices.

An agency account can give its clients access to their own websites. The agency remains responsible for what is done in its account.

5. Your website and your content

Your files, texts and pictures stay yours. You give us the right to store, process, copy and show them only as far as needed to check, fix, host and publish your website, and to make the backups and older versions you can go back to.

You are responsible for what your website says and does, and for having the rights to what you publish. Your website must not break the law, infringe other people's rights, spread malware, collect data in secret, or deceive visitors.

If we learn of content that is clearly illegal, or are ordered to remove it, we may take it offline and tell you why. You can report illegal content on a website we host to help@pristan.io.

6. Free use

Checks are free. A free preview of a website stays online for 7 days and shows a Pristan footer. We may limit how often free checks can be started, to keep the service available for everyone.

7. Paid plans and payment

Prices are shown in euros on the Pricing page before you buy. Prices for consumers include any VAT that applies. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

A plan renews automatically every month or every year, as you chose, and is charged at the start of each period. You can cancel at any time in your account. Your website stays online until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not refund the remaining part of a period, except where the law requires it.

If a payment fails, we tell you and try again. If it still cannot be paid, paid features stop and your website goes back to the free preview.

We tell you at least 30 days ahead before a price change applies to your plan. You can cancel before it takes effect.

8. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, by writing to help@pristan.io. We refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method.

When you buy, you ask us to start right away. If you withdraw, you pay only for the part of the period already provided. A web address registered at your request is registered in your name with the registry and cannot be returned; its price is not refunded once the registration has been made.

9. Web addresses

A web address you buy through Pristan is registered in your name, through our registrar, under the rules of the registry for that ending. You own it and can move it away at any time. It renews each year while your plan is active; if you stop paying for it, it expires under the registry's rules.

10. Fair use

Do not try to get around limits, attack or overload Pristan, use it to check websites at large scale without an agency or API plan, or use it for spam or fraud. If you do, we may limit or close your account. Unless it is urgent or the law forbids it, we warn you first and give you time to fix it.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep Pristan and your website online all the time, but we cannot promise that there will never be an interruption. The Status page shows what works right now. We may improve or change features; if a change takes away something important you pay for, we tell you ahead and you may cancel.

12. Liability

We are fully liable for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, and for harm to life, body or health. For other damage caused by slight negligence, we are liable only for foreseeable damage, and at most for what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. This limit does not apply where the law does not allow it, and it does not reduce your rights as a consumer.

We are not liable for the content of your website, or for decisions you make based on a check result.

13. Ending

You can stop using Pristan at any time and ask us to delete your account. Before that, you can download your website files and the sign-ups your forms collected. We may end your account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, after a warning where possible.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we tell you at least 30 days before the change applies, and ask you to agree again. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. Please write to us first; most problems are solved quickly. Disputes with businesses are decided by the competent court in Slovenia.

16. How we process your data

This part explains what happens to the data you give us, in particular when you start a check. JJTA Consulting d.o.o. is the controller for it. For the websites of our customers and their visitors, we act on our customers' instructions as their processor.

What we send to AI model providers

When you start a check, or ask Pristan to fix or write website text, we send the text and structure of the website — the page text, headings, links, forms and the scripts it loads — to an AI model provider, together with our instructions. If the website contains personal data, such as a name, address, phone number or email, that is sent too. We do not send your account email, your payment details or your visitors' data.

We use these providers:

  • OpenAI (United States) — writes the notes in a check and helps write website text.
  • Anthropic (United States) — writes and checks website text.

The providers use what we send only to produce the answer for us. Under their terms for business use, they do not use it to train their models. They may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse, as their terms allow.

Both are in the United States, so this data leaves the European Union. The transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Why: to give you the check, fix or text you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). You agree to this when you tick the box before a check. If you do not want your website's text processed this way, do not start a check.

Everyone else who handles data for us

  • Amazon Web Services — runs Pristan and stores all data, in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland) — takes payments. Card details go to Stripe only.
  • Google — signs you in, if you choose Google.
  • Our domain registrar — registers web addresses you buy, with the owner details the registry requires.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

What we keep, and for how long

  • A check and its result — kept so you, and anyone you give its link to, can open it again. Write to us and we delete it.
  • Your account — your email, your websites and their versions, for as long as you have the account.
  • Sign-in codes — stop working after 15 minutes.
  • Visit counts — without cookies and without stored IP addresses, 14 days on the free plan and up to 400 days on paid plans.
  • Invoices and payment records — as long as tax law requires, in Slovenia up to 10 years.
  • Which terms you agreed to, and when — with each check and on your account, to show what you agreed to.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to limit or object to how we use it. Write to privacy@pristan.io; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si) or to the data protection authority where you live.

Cookies and visitor counts are explained on the Legal page.
